Description: Renovations and additions to an existing 47,000-square foot recreation facility. Structural renovations included removal of existing load bearing walls and the addition of an interior elevator. The additions consists of a Fitness room and new entrance canopy totaling approximately 2,900 square feet.
Structural System: Concrete masonry unit (CMU) bearing walls with steel bar joists roof structure. Lateral load resistance is provided by ordinary masonry shear walls.
