Latta Structural Engineers is providing structural engineering services for Live Beyond in the construction of their Haiti base just outside Thomazeau, Haiti. Live Beyond has had a presence in Haiti since the day after the earthquake in January 2010. Currently Live Beyond provides free medical care, orphanage support, and clean water and feeding initiatives. When complete, the base will consist of a hospital, orphanage, school, two-story guest house, and a farm. Latta Structural Engineers is providing design services as well as construction observation to assist the local Haitian construction community in understanding U.S. standards of seismic design and construction.
